The Bridgwater Town Council Transport Forum has been working with the Somerset Bus Partnership, the Somerset Council Advisory Bus Board, and Buses of Somerset to extend bus services for the people of Bridgwater. These improvements will apply to bus services 21, 21A, and B1, allowing residents to travel for work and leisure more conveniently while helping to reduce congestion on the towns roads. From 20 April, the B1 bus service that services Hamp and Kingsdown via the Bus Station will operate 7 days a week. The 21 and 21A services from Bridgwater to Taunton and Burnham on Sea have extended the operating times to Burnham on Sea and will be offering an evening service. Throughout the year, the 21 service buses will also transition to electric, reducing carbon emissions in both urban and rural areas. Better Bus Services

Cllr Mick Lerry (Labour, Victoria) stated, “These changes will improve the public bus transport service in Bridgwater and provide greater travel options, especially for families without a car. However, the Bridgwater Town Council Transport Forum will continue to campaign for better bus services to Puriton, Woolavington, the new gigafactory, as well as Wilstock, Stockmoor, and North Petherton.”
Better Rail Services

Cllr Tim Mander (Labour, Westover) added, “I am encouraged by the proposed additions to bus services in and around Bridgwater, although there is always room for improvement. It is important that these services are properly promoted and that the public makes use of them. Lastly, the Town Council, via the Transport Forum, will continue to campaign for better rail services, which a growing town like Bridgwater deserves and needs.”
