This weekend sees the launch of the first ever Bridgwater Blues and Folk Festival. Venues and stages across the town will spring to life on Saturday 12th and Sunday 13th April with FREE music for everyone. Hosted by The Cobblestones Pub & Music Venue and thanks to funding from Bridgwater Town Deal and Bridgwater Town Council, this exciting two-day festival will feature an incredible mix of 50 bands, musicians, and special performances across eight well-known local venues. From Jazz, Blues, and Rock bands to a Sea Shanty Crew and Morris Dancers, the weekend will be packed with performances that promise to delight every music lover while celebrating the very best of local and regional talent.

Leader of Bridgwater Town Council, cllr Brian Smedley (Labour Westover) said “One of the priorities of the Council is to put on events for the community and also to support and encourage people who want to put on events to be able to do just that. Bridgwater is a party town and a community full of creative people. Now that spring is here it’s a great time for this event to celebrate that creativity, the talent we have locally and from around the country and the world, here in Bridgwater. We hope it inspires people to get involved creatively themselves, use their talents and appreciate the talents of others. The driving force behind this festival is Graham Hodgson from the Cobblestone and the support shown to him by the other participating venues is incredible. I urge people to get out there and support this event too and show that we want more events like this.”
