Have Your Say on Arts and Culture in Sedgemoor

cppThe new Sedgemoor Creative People and Places Consortium is inviting everyone who is interested to join them on Tuesday 3rd December at an informal drop-in session and presentation at Bridgwater Town Hall. Free admission.

Homes in Sedgemoor heads up this consortium of local organisations who will use over £1 million pounds from Arts Council England to realise a ten-year plus vision of building on local art and culture with the people of Sedgemoor.  This is all about allowing more people to choose, create and take part in arts and cultural activity – encouraging long-term collaboration between local people, artists and partners, and embedding lasting change in communities.

The drop-in runs from 3-7.30pm (with presentation at 5pm) and offers all-comers the chance to hear more about and to give feedback on this brand-new ten-year plan to grow the arts and culture in Sedgemoor. All are welcome, it’s free admission and there will be tea and biscuits provided.

One of the organisers, Phil Shepherd from the Engine Room says, ‘Come for as little or long as you like. No pressure, you’ll be welcome to just come and have a cup of tea and see what’s going on.  Or you might want to tell us what’s special about where you live and what part arts and culture could play in your community.  Or maybe you’ve got skills and experience you’d like to bring. We’re looking forward to meeting you regardless, all ages and backgrounds welcome’.
