St. Matthews Field will host a Playday on Wednesday 30 July 2025 as part of Love Parks Week, a week that highlights the vital role green spaces play in boosting the health and wellbeing of residents and communities.This free event is open to everyone and promises a day filled with fun children’s activities. Playday is the national day for play in the UK first established in 1987, it highlights the importance of play in children’s lives and advocates for children’s right to play. It also allows children the opportunity to try activities for free that they may not normally get to experience. Each year, thousands of children and families participate in community events across the country, making it a significant campaign for promoting play and its benefits. The event is being organised by Bridgwater Town Council.
