While the Bridgwater Arts Centre continues to undergo its grand refurbishment, events will continue in the bar area every Thursday. These include live folk and jazz music, a general knowledge quiz and a Music history lecture by Dave Chapple. This Thursday 24th April Dave will be sharing and speaking about popular music tunes, songs and song lyrics-mostly but by no means all from the black music heritage-and hoping to encourage discussion and debate about popular music in general and why it is so important to our lives. Dave says “Before and after my session from 8pm to 9.30pm, there will be plenty of time to relax and have a drink from the Arts Centre Bar, with more tunes and songs, but as background music, to 10pm. “
7.30pm for 8pm, Thursday 24th April, Bridgwater Arts Centre, Castle St, Bridgwater, TA6 3DD. Admission free. Nearest car park is round the corner at Northgate.
